The Williams Vintage Tone MK1.5 is a very faithful recreation of the legendary, rare as unicorn horn, Tonebender MK1.5 fuzz pedal. Originally built by Sola Sound in the 1960's, the MK1.5 Tonebender is likely the least known of the Tonebender family due to it's very short existence.
Very similar circuit to the class Fuzz Face, but just enough differences in there to make sure it is not just another Fuzz Face but a very worthy member of the Tonebender family. Full fuzz is lovely and warm, some nice singing sustain on notes but not in the same way as a MK11. The clean up with the guitar volume pot is amazing, really blew me away as this is such an important and sometimes overlooked part of a truly great Fuzz pedal. The Attack pot winds down nicely to lovely, soft fuzz sounds, still with great control from the guitar volume pot. The tone of the pedal is 'chewey' with many characteristics of the MK11 of which it shares much of the circuit. For a really great, nearly out of control fuzz, just put this baby in front of a tube amp with the pre-amp cooking, just so good.
